Here’s some photos of animals we’ve spotted so far. I’ve discovered that they get frightened very easily, they pee the moment i pick them up. Especially the Fowler’s toad, they pee and make these chirpy noises and try to jump out of my hand and I’m just like chill, i’m not going to eat you but they just don’t understand.

Not that many amphibians and snakes have been coming out yet because there was a bit of a cold spell, I can’t wait until it’s warmer! I can’t even go to the beach lately because of the cold, so we’ve been cooped up and it’s quite boring. I’ve resorted to just eating. Constantly.

And taking long walks in rain or shine. I walk alone along the beach listening to my music and there’s usually nobody on the beach so it’s really relaxing and I don’t think about anything serious, I just let my thoughts travel and my entire state of mind just slows down. It’s like meditation kind-of.

My grades have also come out. I didn’t do that well this term because of some silly decisions I made but I think I’ve learned my lesson. The complete lesson. It’s like all my mistakes in these past two years has combined, equalling this great big lesson and now everything I must do is a complete picture in my head.

Before I left, my roommate said something to me that really stuck. She said that when people get older, they often wish that they hadn’t worried as much as they did when they were younger. Seeing things in this perspective really instilled a stronger motivation in me to be less anxious, try my best and enjoy life. This has become my mantra when my thoughts start to obsess over negative things.
